Recipe for success: A new season in Skipton

If you’re a Skipton local, you might have noticed our store was closed for a couple of weeks, while we worked behind the scenes to cook up something special.

We’ve been proudly serving up top-notch cake to the good people of the town since May 2021, and have been chuffed with the reaction to our first-ever pop-up store. After all, for ‘our Ellie’, only the best would do!

So, we wanted to make things official.

The store is back for our new season – sporting a fresh new look, comfy upstairs seating and new additions to the menu. Read on to find out exactly what we’ve been up to…

Second helpings

Our pop-ups have been helping us spread the Ellie Warburtons word, as well as making sure our cakes are ‘bob on’ before releasing them into the wild. We’re chuffed to share that the shop went down a storm, and we’ve been made to feel so welcome. We’re therefore delighted to be a more permanent part of this thriving town.

So, what’s new?

New season, new menu! We’re thrilled to introduce our new baked goods menu, including gorgeously golden tiger bloomer toast, toasted banana fruit bread and daily pastry specials. And don’t leave without trying our amazing crumpets – fluffy with a crispy finale, they’re a true family favourite. Go ahead – smother, slather or soak with butter, conserves or honey.

Of course, our full range of cakes are on display, and the best news yet? Before making your choice, you can tuck into as many samples as you like! We also have an in-store offer – buy four cakes for £10.

Don’t miss our in-store exclusives, such as our Raspberry with Passion Fruit Compote Cake and Chocolate Cake. Passion fruit perfection with a berry finale – our Raspberry with Passion Fruit Compote Cake is almost too good to share! This gorgeous sponge cake is topped with a zingy raspberry compote, passion fruit curd buttercream, and a sprinkling of freeze-dried raspberries.

Our Chocolate Cake, meanwhile, features a smooth chocolate sponge with chocolate ganache and caramel, topped with buttercream and white chocolate. Quite simply, it’s chocolate with more chocolate. Can’t say fairer than that!

Where have you bean all my life?

But which cakes to plump for? Decisions, decisions! To help, our team are on hand with a selection of coffees made with our very own Ellie Warburtons coffee blend, locally sourced teas and hot chocolates (psst – don’t miss our Ultimate Hot Chocolate, with cream and marshmallows!). What’s more, our coffees are available iced – perfect as we come into those warmer months.

If you’re wondering why we’ve already branched out into the coffee domain, well, we’d already done the hard graft and sourced the blend for our amazing Espresso Brownies!

We also have a new cosy seating area upstairs – we invite you to take a seat, indulge in your chosen cake, enjoy a brew, and have a good old-fashioned natter. After all, what’s better than tea and cake?

A fresh new look

As you sip your brew while mulling over which cakes to take home with you (no easy decision, we know), our new décor might just catch your eye. Here, you can read all about our story and what makes us tick (by the way, you can also read all about us on our website, if you’re curious!).

We’ve also given our exterior a makeover for the new season  – our signage will surely catch your eye, along with our brand motto on the window, Eat Cake. Be Happy. (‘nuff said!)
